The gauge for the progress and civilization of any nation is the quality and the number of books and the number of persons habituated of reading them. Books are one of the best tools for training and upbringing. The school has well stocked and state of art library cum reading serves as a hunt for those who care for intellectual nourishment. There are two separate Reading Rooms cum Libraries for juniors and seniors. Our library focuses on providing an excellent educational environment. It is equipped with a good extensive collection of books, CDs/DVDs and periodical subscriptions, which include magazines and newspapers. Resources are being continually added to the existing collection. PRFS is one of the few schools to have separate library for juniors and seniors.

The outbreak of COVID-19 caused significant disruption to the provision of education, training, and mobility opportunities for students, teachers, and educators across the world.

Thanks to the Internet and cloud storage, Digital Libraries / E-Resources allow remote access to educational content, breaking down the physical barriers, and expanding students' horizons in learning.
Students can access an enormous amount of knowledge and share content with others, facilitating the expansion of education.
To help and ensure continuity in education and training activities, “Study@Home” a wide range of online learning materials/resources made available for the PRFS Students & Staff.

Circulation of books
Regular circulation of books is provided for classes III and above. Circulation is done during the library periods.
Library Periods
One library period is there for every section starting from III to XII. During library periods students can issue and return the books. The students are encouraged to read Books, Magazine Etc. & maintain their reading lists and to submit book reviews of the books they have read.
Notice/Bulletin Boards
The library notice board gives information regarding new books added to the library, current topics, improve your Vocabulary, General Knowledge, career related information, higher education and competition related information.
New Arrivals
The new books are displayed on New Additions display rack.
Career/Higher Education Alerts
A section of the notice board is utilised for alerts on higher education and career. Information brochures of various academic institutions, advertisements etc are displayed here.
Reference Services
There is a good collection of reference books in the library in different subject areas. These books are not issued and allowed to read only in the library.
Book Exhibitions
Book Exhibitions with cooperation from the different publishers/sellers are organised every year.

General Rules of Library
- All staff members and students of school may take benefit of the library resources according to the approved rules and regulations.
- The Librarian shall have the general control and supervision of the library including its services and is authorized to maintain and enforce co-operation, co-ordination, peace and order in the library.
- The librarian shall have rights to restrict admission and refuse permission to use library in case of violation of any rules, or misbehaving in any way or disturbing other readers by conversation or otherwise.
- Silence must be strictly observed in the library Premises.
- Personal books, reading materials, bags, parcels, register, student exercise book or any other personal belongings except A NOTEBOOK and issued reading material (with an intention not to return) are not permitted to take into the library.
- No person shall be allowed to partake of refreshment, sleep or commit any nuisance in the library.
- Readers may give their recommendations for books or non-book materials in BOOK RECOMMENDATION REGISTER kept for this purpose at the door of the library.
- For other rules and information regarding general rules for staff, general rules for students, general rules for circulation (ISSUE/RETURN), fine etc. please read the rules under respective heading mentioned above.
- Rules are subject to change time to time as per the directions and recommendation of management level of “School Library Council” and Librarian respectively.
General Rules for Students
- Admission to the library is free to all the students in their schedule Library classes.
- Bring your reader’s card whenever you want to borrow books. (as per schedule time table)
- Deposit your reader’s card in library after each session ending.
- Maintain pin drop silence in library.
- Keep your belongings out before entering in the library.
- Avoid visiting library when other classes period is going on.
- No one shall take out from the library any book/ magazine or non- books material without the prior permission of librarian.
- Don’t mark any thing on or inside the book/ magazine or non book material, tear down its leaf, or otherwise damage it. Students found mutilating the pages of book or periodicals, or otherwise damage them, will have to make good the loss with fine as per the rules of the library and will be debarred from the use of the library services which may be extended to few days to whole year whichever is suitable.
- Students who break the furniture or removes, attempts to remove any library material whether it is book/ magazines, non book materials or any other asset of library from the library which has not been issued to him/her, may be refused to enter in the library in future.
- Arrange every thing at the place before leaving the library, e.g. chairs, newspaper, magazines and book etc.
- Keep your library neat and clean.
- Your information related queries are always appreciable and it will be provided with full endeavor.
- Your co-operation is must to maintain discipline and dignity of library, so whenever you find something against the rules inform to the librarian.
- Mischievous activities and bad behavior by any student in the library premises is strictly prohibited and intolerable, necessary action will be taken against such students.
- Librarian has the right to change the rules of library/circulation/fine as per the direction of the management level of the “school library council” as and when required.
